Spring Cleaning Tips!

Over at Kelly's Korner this week is "show us your cleaning tips."  I will admit there are times that I LOVE to clean...I love to open the windows and blast some music and go to town. Here are a few of my favorite cleaning tips/products:
  • Vinegar & baking soda-I use vinegar ALOT.  I use it combined with baking soda to clean my glasstop stove.  I have tried just about all other methods...but this is the best I've found.  Combine the two and use those non-scratch sponges or scrubbies.  It really works.  I also use it in my laundry.  We have a bad habit of starting a load of wash and forgetting it.  And you know how you get that terrible sour towel smell??? That you can't get rid of?  Seriously add a cup of vinegar and it's gone.  Love it!
  • Tide Washing Machine Cleaner-I am so pumped I found these! The inside of my washer is nasty so I've been using these and they really work!  And as an added bonus it completely makes your house smell wonderful!
  • Mr. Clean Magic Erasers-I discovered these during my years of PreK teaching..they remove crayon and sharpie and everything.  I don't know what's in them but they work!!!
  • SoftScrub-We have a solid-surface acrylic sink and it's a cream color.  That means that every piece of food/beverage leaves a stain behind.  Literally stains it (thinks spaghetti sauce).  By the end of the week it is completely nasty.  The only thing I have discovered that works is Softscrub with bleach. It removes those stains immediately!
  • Seventh Generation Products-with Essie here now I'm trying to move toward less harmful chemicals.  These are great all natural products that I've found to work just as well!
  • Countertop Magic-we have solid-surface (Corian) countertops and this stuff polishes them up nicely! You can find it at Home Depot or Lowes.
  • Bleach-I use bleach to clean our tubs! For our jacuzzi tub I fill it with HOT water, pour in some bleach, and run the jets.  Works like Magic!
  • And I LOVE my Dyson-it's unlike any vaccuum and Well Worth the extra money! I mean WELL WORTH the money!
