2008 in review

2008 was one heck of a year in our household. Here is a quick month by month review of all the exciting happenings!

January-

We broke ground on our new house. Very scary time for us. We were doing this on our own as well as acting as our own contractors. Having no experience before, we were diving in blind. However, we managed to finish the house in a matter of months for $100,000 under appraisal!
February-

Our main goal this month was to sell our house. We managed to accomplish that goal in the following month.

March-

We sold our house, packed it all up in a few days, and moved into a tiny new apartment.

April-

This month was filled with hard work on the house. It really started moving along this month!
May-

This month I got hooked on the Twilight series and read all three of the first book within 2 weeks. Haley also came and stayed with us to help with the house.

June-

This month brought the finishing touches on the house.

July-

The house is finished & we move in! We also snuck away for a short vacation to Nashville.
August-

Back to school time! We also found out we're expecting (results of our trip to Nashville). Unfortunately we would lose the baby a few days later. My bff Ashley has her baby...Adalyn was born!
September-

This month we attended several ASU games. We were there for the first "Red Wolf" football game since we changed mascots!

October-

We're expecting again!

November-

Baby bean is developing just fine and we get this wonderful glimpse of him/her!

December-

We get an even better glimpse of baby bean and get past that scary 1st trimester!

Givin' Marley a run for his money...

I recently read "Marley and Me" since I always want to read the book before I see the movie. It got me thinking about some of the antics Maggie & Tucker have pulled. These pictures are from several years ago in our old house. Travis and I had spent the day shopping in Memphis and came home to find this...apparently they weren't too happy about being abandoned for the day. ;)

14 Weeks

Yay! Second trimester...it really is a relief to get out of that scary 1st trimester. Our bean is now the size of a lemon (or as our baby book says, the size of my fist). It's really crazy how the size is becoming so tangible. I can now picture the size or hold it in my hand. Baby bean can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb!
We now have only 3 weeks til we find out the sex! January 19th is the big day! I dreamed last night that we went to the ultrasound and it was a boy. I was disappointed this morning to realize it was only a dream. I am so beyond ready to know this baby better. I know that being able to put a gender and name on it will make it so much easier. Besides that, I am ready to begin the nursery! I am such a planner at heart that I already feel so behind even thought we have 6 months left.

Baby Stuff

My parents gave us a gift certificate for a glider for the nursery as our big Christmas gift. So they spent a whole day shopping around Batesville with no luck. So Travis and I stopped by Babies R' Us on our way home to look there. We found this one and LOVED it. We also found this super cute onesie there on clearance for our little one next year. If it's a boy, it'll work great. If it's a girl, how cute would a green tutu be with this??? We also found this little fleece outfit on clearance at old navy. Can't wait!!!

5 Years

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary! It's crazy that it's been 5 years already! We're not really celebrating it today-we just got home from being away for five days, I have had a major headache all day, and the weather is really crappy outside. So we're going to officially celebrate our anniversary another day...hopefully tomorrow! Until then, here are a few of my favorite wedding pictures. :)

Christmas in Pine Bluff

After our trip to the ER, we had Christmas lunch with my parents and then set out for Pine Bluff to spend a few days with Travis' family. We visited with some of his cousins on Friday afternoon and then his brother's family came down Friday night. We opened presents that night with his family (his parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, sister, and her boyfriend). I got a Shark so I can safely clean my floors around the dogs, Wii game, etc. Travis got a much needed tool chest and some tools. Tucker and Maggie were excited to see GiGi again and to meet Rocky. Maggie of course snooped through the Christmas tree until she found her gift as well as Tucker's and GiGi's.

Christmas in the ER

We spent a few hours at the ER in Batesville with Travis' injured foot...

Christmas in Batesville

Tuesday afternoon we headed out for Batesville after the ice finally cleared off to spend a few days with my family. We went to Heber Springs to visit with family Christmas Eve night and then Haley stayed the night at my parents house so Santa could come. She was so excited she could barely contain herself. We got up VERY early Christmas morning. Travis and I woke up around 3 am. His foot was hurting really bad (he had fallen the day before on the ice and apparently injured it). But we didn't head downstairs until 5:30 when Haley finally got up. We opened presents...much to Maggie's delight. She and Tucker both got a stocking full of toys. Travis and I got some pajamas, Wii games, and a rocker/glider for the nursery. Then Travis and I headed off to the emergency room to have his foot looked at. Luckily, it wasn't broken...just some torn ligaments. We had a great time...not even a trip to the ER could dampen our visit!

13 Weeks

I'm posting this one a day early since we'll be out of town tomorrow. According to babycenter.com, our baby has grown from a lime to a shrimp. Well the length of a large shrimp. I prefer what our baby book says...it's now the size of a peach. Makes more sense to me. We had a doctor appointment today...everything is great. We were able to hear the heartbeat with a dopplar...heartrate was 156. We go back in 4 weeks for our gender scan! I can't wait to find out what baby House is! So, if you've not voted yet, please vote before it's too late!

Our Christmas

Travis and I celebrated our Christmas together today since we're leaving tomorrow for our family Christmases. Travis got a universal remote control, a gps system, Wii game, etc. I got a really neat zebra print platter, awesome silver shoes, etc. Maggie & Tucker were so excited to open there stockings that they were literally climbing the walls.

Do You See What I See???

Look who I found snooping under the tree AGAIN. Look closely-you may see the familiar red collar of our beloved snoop Maggie. She was completely under the tree desperately looking for another present for her. She emerged with one...it wasn't hers...but she wanted it none the less. I had to pry it away from her only to find her with it again a few minutes later. Looks like someone is going on the naughty list!!! I recall last year a time where she was also on the naughty list.

Our Christmas Card 2008

Here is our card this year...I can't wait to make next year's with a new baby in it!!!

Fox Meadow Christmas Party!

This year at work we did a progressive dinner Christmas Party. We started at my principal, Lacy's house for appetizers. Then we headed over to a third grade teacher, Amber's house for dinner. And finally ended up at my house for dessert and a giftcard exchange. We had such a great time traveling to houses, eating, and talking. It was so fun to see everyone's houses, eat great food, and laugh til it hurt. We even ended up playing a few rounds of guitar hero before everyone left.

Snow Day #2

Today was our 2nd snow day of the year. I'm really cooped up today. I've been stuck in the house since Monday afternoon. As soon as Travis gets home today we are going to run some errands so I can get out of this house! I've spent the day being lazy...reading, watching tv, and cuddling with the two cutest pups around.
