What a week...

This has been one of those CRAZY busy weeks for us! It was Essie's star week at school which meant she took photos to display and got to do special tasks all week! :)  Tuesday I took my kindergarten kids to the Museum of Discovery in Little Rock for a field trip.  I was beyond exhausted by the end of the day!

Wednesday right after school, we got Essie all dolled up in her best Ariel outfit and headed back to Little Rock for Disney on Ice.  She was beyond excited as we have been waiting on "Dare to Dream" to come here.  It was about Rapunzel, Tiana, and Cinderella.  It was AMAZING and our little one wanted to stay forever. We didn't get home until almost midnight.

Thursday after school we had to run a few errands to pick up a few things for Essie's STAR week snack and goodie bags. Then we got her dolled up again to go to our high school's production of Beauty and the Beast. We only stayed until intermission since it had already gone for 2 hours. Once we got home, we had to fill 16 froggie themed goodie bags.

Then today, Trav and I took the day off to go with Essie on her field trip to see a Mr. Al concert. She was soooo excited. The kids loved the show.

After the show we went back to her school for her Star week storytime and snack. Since Toad Suck is coming up soon, we did a "toad/frog" theme. I read aloud "Big Wide-Mouthed Frog" and the kiddies got frog goodie bags filled with a frog pencil, frog finger puppet, and sticky toy frog. Then the kiddos ate their special frog themed snack...we made frog floats and frog eggs! Essie was so excited to get to take home the star bag filled with books to read at home! :)

Pre-School Gymnastics Show

Every Friday at Snugglebugs the kiddos get to go to Sonshine Academy for a preschool gymnastics class.  We don't get to see her do gymnastics very often (except for the 20 minutes after dance).  This past Saturday was her gymnastics show! We were so excited to get to see her do her thing.  She really like gym more than dance.  They were also going to unveil the new preschool tree-house gym and she was beyond excited to see it.

Her friend Ryder was there and we are so thankful because she was overwhelmed with the amount of people watching.  She did great.  We watched the kids warm up and then they broke into smaller groups to do differnt activities.  It was so much fun.

At the end, each kiddo got on stage and was given a medal! We were so proud of our little gymnast!

and just for fun...a picture of her first day of gymnastics back in January 2012...

Backyard Makeover part 1

Every spare moment he had, the Hubs has been outside in the backyard working his bootie off.  When we moved into the house, it was December so we just put up a temporary fence to get us by.  Travis has been working to get our permanent fence up.  Since the back of our yard was lined by trees and an open field with no immediate neighbors, we wanted an open air fence. This past winter, we lost alot of the trees along the fence line and so he has had to do alot of clean-up. Along with the fence building, he has installed a compost barrel and two rain barrels.  He is also building several raised beds for a small veggie garden.  Our flowerbeds need majorly cleaned out as well.  It will be a long process but we cannot wait to have our backyard looking good again. Essie loves being outside with her daddy and helping him in the yard.
Although our house in only 7 years old, our A/C unit needed completely replaced.  So a few weeks back we had a new one installed.  In addition to our A/C unit going out, our lawnmower and grill also bit the dust...when it rains it pours!
