31 week survey

I found this little survey online somewhere and thought it'd be neat to do every week from now on. I only wish I had found it earlier to add to my weekly posts! :)

  • Maternity clothes? Umm..Yeah.
  • Stretch marks? a few but they aren't red so you can't see 'em
  • Sleep: Decent-only get up once to go to the potty...my preggo pillow is a MUST though
  • Best moment this week: feeling her hiccups in the middle of the night & baby showers
  • Movement: oh yeah! She's a crazy girl at times! :)
  • Food cravings: sweet tea & chick fila
  • Gender: she better still be a girl! An awful lot of pink in this house for a boy!
  • Belly Button in or out? In, but it doesn't look as deep...
  • What I miss: sleeping on my tummy
  • What I am looking forward to: our next shower!
  • Biggest complaint: heartburn!
  • Milestones: first showers, feeling her hiccups, putting together her bassinet & stroller!

31 weeks

4 Oranges...that's bout how much E.C. should weigh right now...3 and a half pounds and almost 18 inches in length. At my last appointment my doctor scolded me for losing another pound but said he wouldn't be worried as long as I measured okay. So when he went to measure me...he laughed and said 'oh yeah...you're okay!" He then showed me where the top of my uterus is...right under my ribcage now...She's really filling out my tummy now!

I'm feeling pretty good right now...having a little more back, pelvic pain than before. Yesterday I was miserable all day-and was even concerned enough to call the doctor to check on it. He said to rest and monitor-so I did just that and I did feel better that evening after putting my feet up. His exact words were to "have my husband wait on me for once". I like those doctor's orders! I have been very, very, very tired lately. It's disappointing because I was having an energy spurt the last few weeks but now i'm pretty much whooped by the end of the day now. I'm loving how much Essie rolls and kicks now days. She's pretty predictable as to what time she sleeps and plays now. After meals she is most active and at bedtime. I love to lay there and watch/feel her punches and stretches. She woke me up for the first time last night. I woke up and she was really having a party...I just smiled and went back to sleep!

I'm teetering between being extremely excited and extremely terrified of the upcoming weeks. Only 9 weeks til my due date but she could come early. I'm really feeling that time crunch now! I've got her diaper bag packed and am making a list of things to pack for us. Hopefully she will hold on in there for at least another 7 weeks or so! :)

Remembering...

This week our first baby would've been due. So I've tried to take some time to remember him/her for at least a little bit today. He/she wasn't with us long (a little less than a week) but we loved him/her greatly during that week. I will never ever forget that feeling of shock, amazement, and excitement that I felt when I saw that positive pregnancy test! That was one of the most exciting, whirlwind weeks filled with extreme highs and devastating lows. Here are a few pics of that special week of our lives...

Friends Shower

My friends Ashley and Julie hosted a shower for me this weekend. I got a lot of cute things! Here are a few pics from the shower! We got a gorgeous diaper cake, a diaper genie, mother's bracelet with "Essie" on it, bath stuff, monogrammed wipe holder, pearl baby bracelet, and some cute clothes!

2:00 am

I'm on quite a schedule these days. Every night I have to make a 2:00 am potty visit...which causes me to be awake until about 3:30 am (I just cannot go right back to sleep). Fortunately Essie has also been awake during this hour each night. She's a WILD child during that time! For the past two nights she's had the hiccups (the first time I've felt them). Other than that she is rolling and kicking almost that entire time (maybe that's why I can't go back to sleep...hmmm). I guess she's just preparing me now for our late night dates that are coming our way soon! :)

a few changes

When we recieved that gorgeous painting the other day I knew I had to take down Essie's letters above her crib to put it there. So we did just that and I think it makes that wall look soooo much better! We've not quite decided where to re-hang her letters but I'll post pics soon when we do.

Travis put together the travel crib that the girls at work gave me-it's soooo frilly and girlie! We put it in our bedroom-we're going to use it as a bassinet for now. And we will also use it when we travel to grandparents houses! It makes me smile to wake up and see it next to my side of the bed...just waiting on E.C. to fill it!

Another gift...

I recieved the sweetest gift in the mail today. My friend Andrea sent Essie this seriously soft blankie (don't you just want to curl up with it?) and this cute burp cloths/bib set! Thanks Andrea! I LOVE it and will use the fire out of it!

More shower gifts...

Here are a few pics of some of the clothes we recieved at the shower that I neglected to post the other day.

This first two outfits are from my friend Jane (the same one who made her take home outfit). She also made these for lil Essie Claire!

This one is from my parents...my dad crocheted the trim on the little socks. Sweet huh?

Cute onesies from my student teacher-I thought it was so sweet that she thought of Essie.

Super girlie gown, hat, and blanket from the third grade teachers! Baby Nay stuff is sooo soft & cute!
Some cute socks and shoes!

Take Home Outfit

Here is the outfit that we are going to bring Essie Claire home in. We searched all over for her take-home outfit. I wanted something very simple and vintage that we could preserve and give to her when she's older for her own children. We couldn't find anything we really liked so I had my friend/coworker Jane make one that I had found online. So she made this beautiful little dress for my little E.C. to wear. It has a dainty little slip under it as well as these little bloomers with her name on them! My mom bought it for her so Essie would like to say "Thanks Nana!"

Fox Meadow Baby Shower

Today was my first baby shower! However...my day started off HORRIBLE. I had planned on wearing a certain outfit but when I went to put it on this morning-it just didn't work. So I had to go through my entire closet to find something to wear-that fit. Not an easy task these days. Then my flat iron stopped working halfway through styling my hair. I was running late and panicking to get out the door for work so I just threw my makeup in a bag and took it with me. By the time I got to work...I was a wreck. My hormones were all over the place and I was in tears. I couldn't stop them. Of course everyone was concerned about me. One of the girls in the office called me to come down there. When I got down there-her sister (a hairstylist) was there to fix my hair for me! So we sat in the office in a make-shift "salon" while I got my hair done...it was sooo sweet that of course I cried again! So my day started to get better. Then we got my favorite salad for lunch today which made my day even better. The girls I work with are AMAZING. I work at the most amazing elementary school that is filled with the most loving people! The other girls who work on my hallway threw me the most incredible shower today. They decorated the lounge in such an adorable way...they had put up a large piece of paper that had Essie's initials on it and had pink everywhere! One of the girls, Brandy, had painted this beautiful painting for Essie's room-of course I teared up when I saw it! I can't wait to hang it in her room. They had pink oreo balls, fruit and fruit dip, chips & salsa, and my favorite eclairs (for E-claire)-I know cute huh??? I got a ton of great gifts and had the best time! I am so lucky to work with such incredible people! My parents even came up to share in the festivities! Our loot included: a bumbo & bumbo tray, a carrier, a bathtub filled with Aveeno baby stuff, bath stuff, and wipes, an ear thermometer, our portable crib, bottles & pacifiers, diapers and diaper cream, a picture frame, a playmat, and a bunch of adorable clothes and shoes!

30 Weeks

Essie weighs as much as a cabbage this week-a lil over 3 pounds and 17 inches long. Only 10 more weeks to go! I have definitly been ALOT more tired at the end of the day this week. I guess it's all the extra baby I'm carrying around right now! Essie and I enjoyed our first baby shower today-I'll post seperately for that!
