Tunica

Travis and I decided to go to Tunica for a few days to celebrate our anniversary.  We've been together 8 years today!  It's pretty difficult to celebrate our wedding anniversary since it's so close to Christmas.  We left Essie with my parents which was more difficult than I imagined.  I cried on and off all day!  Our room was very nice...we stayed at The Veranda which is part of Harrah's. 

We only had two things on our agenda....eat at Paula Deen's Buffet and hit those outlet stores!  We hit those stores HARD!  We went to Carters, Children's Place, OshKosh, and Gap Outlets and got so many things for Essie.  We bought alot of stuff for next summer!  We found the best deals at Childen's Place...we didn't pay over 2.99 for anything AND they let me use my 15% coupon on top of that!  Just check out all the clothes we got for her....we added it up and the total would have been $532 if we paid full price.  We only paid $180 for it so we saved 66% off on average! 

On Monday we hit up Paula Deen's buffet several times.  They offer a "pay once-eat all day" deal.  So went a couple times and just tried bites here and there.  I will say that we both were a little disappointed...I mean this is THE Paula Deen we are talking about and some of the food was average at best.  Of course the fried chicken, grits, biscuits, etc were really good.  We both tried foods we had never had before.  I tried fried green tomatoes (yum!) and travis tried crawfish and oysters (not yum.) 

We did gamble a little...we lost more than we won...we had a little bit of fun doing it but the whole casino scene is just not our thing at all.  Too smoky and loud.  But  I did enjoy watching all those hardcore women there Monday morning! :)

Needless to say we were more than ready to come home and see Essie and the pups!
