1st Snow "ick" day of 2011!

We got our 1st Snow day of 2011! I LOVE snow days....love staying inside, cooking soup, cleaning, and just relaxing! Oh they make me sooo happy! We've been waiting on this snow all week and it finally started really coming down last night around 9 pm.  I took Essie out to see it and she said "OH! Pretty Pretty!" I found it our school was closed in the middle of the night so I deactivated our alarms in hopes of sleeping in. 

Essie slept in until 9am! We got up and she ate a HUGE breakfast of 2 scrambled eggs and her first "real" bowl of cereal!

Then we bundled her up and went out to play in the snow. First thing she said was "ick!" "ick!" "ick" as she pointed to the snow. She screamed when we made her walk across it. She wanted NOTHING to do with it!

She did like going to the backyard and watching daddy play fetch with the doggies though!

So after our snow fun this is what Travis, Essie, Maggie, and Tucker did for the rest of the day...

and I got some free time to clean and cook! I made SPICY VEGETABLE SOUP and PEPPERED MEATBALLS!!!

Ugh...stomach bug.

Thursday Essie was FINALLY back to normal..happy and eating! What a relief! And then...at midnight we hear the glorious sounds of the stomach bug over the baby monitor.  We clean her up, change her jammies, and put her in bed with us (thinking she just got gagged on drainage at this point).  2am...it happends again, this time in our bed.  Again, change sheets, change jammies, put new sheets on and go back to bed.  3am..again...this time we change sheets, GIVE bath and new jammies.  We are officially out of sheets at this point so onto the couch we go.  4 am...again. onto the 5th pair of jammies.  Needless to say we got less than 2 hours sleep that night and we now had a sick lil girl AGAIN. My dad drove up from Batesville Friday morning so he could watch Essie for us since Trav was supposed to sub.  We were supposed to go down to Batesville that night to help Trav's parents with their house but since Essie was under the weather we stayed home and his parents came to us.  Saturday morning Essie was better so we got up and all got ready to head on to Batesville. 

That morning Essie kept pointing to the tv saying "Elmo! Elmooooo!" I said "We are about to leave. We can watch Elmo in the car!".  She replied "OTAY!", pulled her car into the middle of the room, hopped in, pointed to the t.v, and said "Elmo!".  I about died laughing! Such a funny girl!

Once we got into town we went with my mom and Haley to get Haley's haircut. She wanted it chopped off and since she had enough to donate she donated it to "locks of love". I think she looked sooo cute in her new 'do! and I just realized that I forgot to take an after pic of her hair! :(

On Sunday morning my dad and I both woke up with the stomach virus...I slept til 1 that day and he slept most of the day as well.  Once I felt like I could make it home we loaded up and headed home.  But I started feeling REALLY sick and we had to pull over on the side of the road once..UGH! By the time we got home Travis was sick as well. It's amazing how one lil girl can infect sooo many adults! So we spent Sunday laying around and waiting on the snow that was headed our way!

Elmo's Pajama Party!!!

Tonight Essie got dressed in head to toe Elmo pajamas, slippers, and bow and we headed to Chick Fil a.

They were having an "Elmo Pajama Party"! It was PACKED...we had to park at Target and walk across the street even! There were no tables...in fact some people were even sitting outside eating! There wasn't room to walk or move! It was flat crazy!  But all worth it! Elmo was there (in his pj's) to take pics with the kids.  The kids were given fabric markers to decorate pillowcases (notice the black marker all over her face and lips?!)  and they were read "Goodnight Moon".  Essie wasn't so sure about Elmo in person..she would'nt sit on his lap but she did give him a high five! We ran into a couple of Essie's friends there...Carly and Presley.  These three girls were born within a few months of each other and all us moms work together! Carly and Essie matched totally and all three had on the same slippers!

Essie woke up with fever again this morning (at 4:30 am) so she and Daddy stayed home together today.  I went on to work and had a great first day back...it was so nice to see my kiddos again! The good news is that Essie was pretty much fever free all day and took a 4 hour nap! She is a new kid tonight! She has a little bit of appetite and is playing some.  It makes me smile from head to toe to see her happy again and not in so much pain! If all goes well tonight she will get to go back to Mrs. Deena's tomorrow! She has missed her so much! Travis dressed her in her Razorback gear today so they could cheer on the HOGS tonight along with the rest of Arkansas! Here are a few pics of her today...

I had planned to make Red Beans and Rice for dinner but we opted to go to San Francisco Bread instead.  I thought Essie might like some yummy potato soup but she opted for a slice of oreo cheesecake instead.  Heck after two (almost 3) days of not eating we'd let her eat whatever she wanted!!! She brought along her Elmo case of characters to play with as well! She loves these guys so much!

A sick lil one and please vote!!!

Essie has been one sick lil girl the past two days...her fever has been up to 104 and the lowest it's gotten is 100.  It's been up and down all night.  She feels awful...doesn't want to eat or drink...we cannot please her...and the only thing she wants is for me to hold her.  Not her daddy...only me.  So this morning when she woke up with 103 fever at 5:30 I called in to work and we took her to the sick call.  The dr said she's got a very bad sinus infection and tonsilitis (sp?).  Her throat looked awful and she sounds awful too! We had pretty much broken her of the bottle...she had 4 nights of no bottles and last night we broke down and gave her one in hopes that we could get SOME liquid down.  So I'm sure we will be starting all over again on that.  But we are willing to do whatever it takes to make her comfortable and feel a little better. She has gotten every single toy out today and our house is a disaster zone but we are just going to smile and deal for now! It kills us to see her sick and know that she feels bad!!!

New Years Eve Cupcake...

We spent New Years Eve at home relaxing and hanging out! I made some cupcakes for dessert and Essie could NOT wait to get one! I thought these pictures were soooo funny!

So Essie had a great New Years Eve, New Years Day (Nana & Pa came up to watch Essie so Travis and I could go out for our anniversary!), and now she's SICK! Her fever got up to 104 today and has been going up and down all day long! We are going to watch her tonight and hopefully take her in to the doctor in the morning.
