Batesville Baby Shower

We had our third (and final) baby shower this weekend in Batesville. This one was hosted by my parents and was mainly for all our family members and friends from batesville. We were so surprised by how many people showed up! We had family come in from all over the state from both Travis's side and mine. We got soooo many goodies! We barely were able to fit in all in the Jeep to get it home! The decorations were adorable, the food was great, and we loved visiting with everyone! It's very apparent that miss Essie will have a ton of people to love her! We were very touched by everyone's generosity and thoughtfulness!

Me before the shower...I felt like my belly had grown 4 inches that day!

We had a ton of great food & the decorations were so adorable!

The beautiful (and delicious) cake my mom made!

Excited (and nervous) parents to be! :)

Me and my bff from forever ago Julie!

My parents made Travis a "daddy's toolbelt" complete with everything he needs to change a diaper: goggles, face masks, rubber gloves, thongs, air freshner, butt paste, etc. It was hysterical!

Travis' aunt made this gorgeous blanket for Essie...breathtaking!

I loved having Travis there to help open gifts. I think he enjoyed it as well!

Travis' parents got us our high chair...Travis is super pumped about this!

We got sooooo many gifts! Alot of them were handmade! I couldn't believe the amount of stuff we got!

We recieved this little Bible with Essie's name on it!

A better picture of the blaket that Travis' aunt made!

My grandmother made this quilt for Essie. Look at those cute cocker spaniels on there! So thoughtful! We love it!A bonnet that is very old that was given to us that Essie can use in her wedding. Enlarge if you can and read the sweet note written with it!

This one made me cry-and still does. Travis' sister gave us this cake knife that will be engraved with her name and birthdate. We will use it every year to cut her birthday cake and give it to her for her wedding to use to cut her wedding cake. So sweet!

Oh the clothes! Look at all these clothes...this is picture 1 of 3!
More clothes...she will have nothing to wear!

Look at all that pink! I can't wait to play dress up!

We were so blessed with so many wonderful gifts that it's impossible to take pics of everything! But we would like to thank everyone who came and especially my parents for all their hardwork, thought, and effort that went into this shower! We love you!

a sweet surprise

Well I had a very sweet surprise today at work! One of my students was having a birthday today. The same student who wrote this precious letter about "S.E. Clare" that is now framed and hanging in her room. His mom and dad were bringing him cupcakes, etc to celebrate his birthday. They ended up surprising me with an impromtu baby shower. They brought me this adorable pink and white cake (I tried brining the bottom tier home and it didn't survive the trip), a big "it's a girl" balloon, and the sweetest gifts. I got this stuffed dino (her son is a dino-fanatic and I always do a big dino unit in my classroom) and giftset. I was so surprised and touched by their thoughtfulness.

More Girlie things!

Here are a few random girlie things/gifts we've recieved lately!
We got these three nylon headbands from my friend Amy-she's majorly talented! I LOVE everything she makes! I am so excited to put these on Essie!
I got this super cute/soft blanket today from a lady (Robin) who subs in our building alot. She's also going to be doing my maternity leave the beginning of next year!
I ordered these two hats from a lady and they are soo cute! These are actually the Harper Hats that you see on this blog!
I found this bag on clearance at Old Navy for $5 and had my friend Jane put an "E" on it for Essie...I thought it'd be a cute tote bag to use for her!

Daddy's Outfit

I gave Travis a challenge the other day that I wanted him to go to the mall and pick out a complete outfit for Essie ON HIS OWN! I did this for two reasons...one being that I wanted him to feel a part of the excitement and two I was just REALLY curious to see what he came home with! Plus I wanted to establish from the beginning if he was capable of putting together a cute, coordinated outfit on his own. So the other night off he went on his mission. I was beyond tickled that he took it sooo seriously! He came home with several bags. Below is his "official" outfit. It's an adorable pair of jeans from Target, an sweet eyelet white top from Gap, and this funky hot pink sweater also from Gap. I was beyond shocked and pleased with it! How cute it that! He also picked up the two little onesies from Gap because he liked them so much. ( I have no idea why blogger keeps flipping my photos!) But here is the best part...he got everything on clearance! Which is soooo typical of my hubbie (he never pays full price!) He only spent around $20 for everything! How amazing is that??? The sweater itself was regular price $30! :) Love that man...Essie is one lucky little girl to have him for a daddy!

Thanks Rebecca!

The other day I got a package in the mail from one of my bff's from college (Rebecca). It was these two precious hats for E.C.! I love them & can't wait to put them on her! Thanks so much Rebecca!

look before you leap...

This is a lesson Tucker should have learned before his big splash into my bathwater last night. He was quite surprised to find himself belly deep in warm water!

32 Weeks

Hellooo eighth month! Essie is growing away in there and supposedly weighs about 4 pounds and is 19 inches long (almost her total length!). She weighs as much as this jicama (???). I am happy to report that she's no longer see-through which a relief to this here momma! Only 8 more weeks til my due date...she could come sooner though! I feel like she's pulling on me somedays. Especially today! We had our final first grade field trip (which explains why I look so ROUGH). A long bumpy busride, walking around a park all day, 140 excited kiddos, climbing hills...yeah, wore this preggo plum out! I am sooo ready for a shower, clean pajamas, and american idol tonight! :)

Maternity clothes? absolutely!
Stretch marks? a few but not too bad

Sleep: Okay- I wake up alot because my hips/legs hurt!
Best moment this week: dreaming about her the other night
Movement: loving it! she's getting stronger but I can tell she's running out of room!
Food cravings: salad! but it changes everyday!
Gender: girl still I hope!
Belly Button in or out? In, but it doesn't look as deep...
What I miss: sleeping on my tummy
What I am looking forward to: our shower this weekend!
Biggest complaint: still heartburn and keeping my pants up-they keep sliding down!
Milestones: organizing her closet-pictures to come soon! :)

daddy's girl

Okay...so far from her ultrasounds I think Essie's profile resembles that of her daddy. What do you think??? Her ultrasound and his newborn pic...

Long Awaited...

Oh how I've waited for our Tropical SnoCone place to open up!!! I've craved one of these guys for this entire pregnancy! I was beyond thrilled when we drove by and saw it had opened up for the summer! So Essie and I enjoyed our first snocone of the season. She was just as thrilled...she kicked and wiggled the entire time! :)

Twilight Night!

This evening several girlies from work came over to watch (ummm drool over Edward) Twilight. We pigged out on snacks, told stories, and laughed til it hurt. We did work in a little Twilight in the midst of it all. Maggie managed to eat more than anyone else...she snuck two...yes two pieces of pizza off one plate. That was just the beginning of her dinner! It was a great night but unfortunately I forgot to take pics except these of Avery (Katie's little girl) sneaking out the doggie door! She was probably the main entertainment of the evening! :)
