Swim Lessons

Tuesday night we started swim lessons again.  Essie loved them last year...but last year she was in the "seahorses" class which I had to get in the water with her.  This year she graduated to "Guppies" and she is on her own.  We weren't sure how she would do but she did great! It helped that her sweet little friend from Snugglebugs was there at the same time in a another class! After class, the girls played on the playground beside the pool and we all went to Dairy Queen for ice-cream treats! :)

Summer Break/Park Fun

So far our summer has been mild and wonderful! We love to be outside and Essie is loving the park.  Sunday night we went to the park and ran into our friend Ryder there.  He and Essie are good buddies from school and played together so well!

Last Days

This past week concluded several things for us.  Wednesday was Essie's last day of dance for the year.  Thursday was my last day of school and Essie's last day of school year Preschool.  She will still attend a few days each week during the summer.  We are looking forward to our summer filled with fun activities! :)

Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend we pretty much spent the entire weekend outside.  We went to Wild River Country and Essie was all about it.  She finally worked up the courage to go down the slide by herself  and did that over and over and over.

Then we went to our first picnic at Petit Jean Park.  We hike a little and Essie has a blast on the playground.

The Zoo

Essie has been earning stickers on her chore chart and each completed chart earns her a trip to a place of her choice.  So far we've enjoyed Jump Zone, Playworld Pizza, and now it's the zoo.  She was excited to go to the zoo and we were excited to get to use our season passes!  It was HOT, HUMID, and PACKED but a good time was had by all anyway.

Mother's Day

This past mother's day was difficult for us with the recent loss of Meemaw.  Travis and Essie did an amazing job making me feel special with breakfast in bed, flowers, bracelet charms, and a handprint frame.

Essie wanted to paint her YaYa a picture to make her feel special on Mother's day...

That evening we all met at the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock for Illuminate the Cure.  It's a lantern release for breast cancer.  Over 700 lanterns were released.  It was one of the most beautiful and moving moments I've ever experienced.  It was breathtaking and of course Essie thought it was just like the movie Tangled!
