YaYa's 40th birthday

YaYa just turned 40 and we celebrated with a pirate themed party.  Travis and I made the cake, banners, and the food table "ship".  It was so much fun and Essie had a BLAST!

Ecofest

A few weekends ago, Essie's Aunt YaYa came down to go to Ecofest here in Conway.  It was a fun event filled with animals, crafts, and tips to go green.

First Day

Monday was my first day back with my kinders and Essie's "first" day at preschool.  Yes, she has been going all summer long but Monday was the beginning of her schoolyear session.  I had an amazing first day with my little ones and it's going to be such a good school year!

Hunger Games

This past weekend I hosted a Hunger Games watch  party before school started.  I thought it was a blast but unfortunately several people couldn't make it at the last minute.  That same night, Essie had a birthday party to go to so it worked out well!

Back to School

It's that time of year again...back to school.  I actually pretty much went back to work last week when I worked Kindergarten Camp everyday.  But tomorrow is my first official, contract day.  We have trainings all this week and meet & greet on Thursday.

 It's a tad bit cooler here today so we went outside to enjoy the weather.  Essie loved her swingset and Travis worked on some yardwork.

Afterwards we all ran up to my classroom to clean it out and get ready for Thursday...we worked for about 5 hours and didn't get anywhere near done!  But Essie did have a blast with a giant umbrella I found in a cabinet.  She played the entire time and then took a 3 hour nap!

Essie's Olympics

We (like everyone else in the world) have been all caught up in the Olympics.  Essie especially loves watching swimming and gymnastics.  However, it has caused her to think she is an Olympian herself.  She's stripped the bedding off our bed and goes to town doing flips and handstands.
