We knew even before we thought about getting pregnant that we would use the dogs to tell our parents. So as soon as we found out, we headed straight to Hobby Lobby in the pouring rain to get a kids pink and blue shirt and iron on letters. We made a blue "Big Brother" shirt for Tucker to wear and a pink "Big Sister" shirt for Maggie to wear. We figured as soon as our parents saw the shirts they would get it. However, that wasn't the case. My parents had already figured us out and Travis's parents didnt' quite get it from the shirts alone. However, I do have to give props to his dad because he got it much faster than his mom or sister did! So we made the shirts for the dogs and a "Cousin to Be" shirt for Haley. Then we took off work Friday so that I could go to my family doctor to confirm and we could head out for our trek across Arkansas spreading the good news! It was such a fun weekend...we were so excited to tell everyone!

When we were pregnant with Eva Grace I made Emma a big sister bracelet to wear to a huge family cookout. We waited and waited for someone to see the bracelet but no one did. Finally, Jane Ellen saw it, read it and STILL didn't catch it - So I understand your initial disappointment. You are so excited for people to catch it, when they don't you want to hit them on the head!!
Love the dog shirts - you should start selling them in all your spare time!!
LOL! The same thing happened to us. We put an ultrasound picture in the back of our Cancun pictures and passed the album around. Nobody said anything, just randomly looked through the album. Finally, after supper my mom looked through and said what is this a picture of? My brother had to tell her it, "It means Jos is pregnant!" My grandmother thought it was a "squirrel in a tree." We abandoned the album and just told Aaron's parents :)
