So it's been 3 months since I made my 12 goals for '12...let's check in and see how it's going!
I am determined to make 2012 a good year for us...so here are my 12 goals for 2012!
1. Get settled. We've been unsettled for pretty much 2 years. I want to get our new house together, get rid of all our old junk, start fresh.... We are still working on this one. We are quite a bit more settled than we were in January though! We still have the garage to get through.
2. I saw this one over on Allison's blog...love it! Have 100 NO SPEND days where we spend absolutely nothing on those days! I'm going to make a little chart to put somewhere to keep up with this one for us. I'm very curious to see if we can do it! ummm...yeah...this one was pretty much impossible for us. Travis eats lunch out everyday at work so this would NOT work for us. We tried, we failed. :(
3. Complete the potty training process with Essie...she does much better at school so I know it's our fault. We are honestly being lazy about it and we need to go full force and get her out of those pull ups. DONE! Essie is officially potty trained so I can CHECK this one off the list.
4. Be a better friend. I hope I'm doing okay on this one...I have tried to put more effort into my friendships at least!
5. Read at least 3 books. The first one is sitting on my nightstand ready to go.."The Hunger Games". Yes I am late coming to the Hunger Games party but I am determined to get caught up before the movie comes out! DONE!!! The Hunger Games trilogy helped me accomplish this and they were amazing books! Check!
6. Find a church home. Sadly we have yet to check this one off...maybe soon though!
7. Get caught up on Essie's photo books...create a blog book too! I am overwhelmed by this one and neeeed to do it but haven't yet!
8. Start new family traditions...Friday night movie night, Family Game night, etc. We are doing pretty good with this! We typically have family nights on Fridays and we always go out to dinner after gymnastics!
9. Keep my car clean. It's always a mess-inside and out. Yes! I have done so much better with this one...now if the hubs will too.
10. Do something nice/unexpected for/with my students more often. I have such a wonderful opportunity as a Kindergarten teacher to set them on the right path in education! I think I'm accomplishing this one! I've tried having surprises for my kiddos and I went to a birthday party the other day. I do love them and am sad I only have a few weeks left with them!
11. Get my wisdom teeth out...rediculous I know but I've been putting it off for years! Nope. not yet. Maybe this summer.
12. Get healthy. So cliche but I'm wanting to add onto our family in the near future and I need to be in better health to do it. I am still down around 20 pounds. I did lose 25 but have gained some back in the past 2 weeks. However I am starting back full force with Zumba classes and eating healthy!
Those are my goals...I would love to accomplish them all...let's see how this year goes!

Spring "Break"...whew
We had a CrAzY busy and eventful spring break...after work last Friday we went down to Batesville to visit my parents. We hadn't been down since Christmas so Essie was super pumped and had a blast.
Then we brought my niece Haley back home with us to spend a few nights. While she was here we crammed as much into our days as we could.
Sunday night we watched movies
Monday we went to WonderPlace, lunch at Purple Cow, and to the park for a picnic dinner.
Tuesday we went to the Jumpzone, lunch at McAlisters, and PlayWorld Pizza for dinner.
Wednesday I met Nana halfway so Haley could go back home and Essie and I took a long, much needed nap that day!
Thursday we drove to Little Rock to meet Sarah & Cooper and we went to the zoo and lunch! Then Essie went home with Travis' parents so we could go to the midnight showing of The Hunger Games. It was so gooood and we didn't get home until 3 am.
Friday we ran errands, shopped for Easter baskets, and cleaned house.
Saturday morning we drove back to Little Rock to meet Trav's parents to get Essie back and then came back to go to one of my students' birthday parties!
Whew....

Dancing and Dr. Seuss
My school signed up to participate in a fundraiser for our local Excel program. It was a Dancing with the Stars/Conway's Got Talent type of thing. We did a flashmob type of dance and I think it was adorable! We won 2nd place Audience pick! My parents & niece, and YaYa came to watch it!
This week at school we had a Dr. Seuss theme...I "cooked" everyday with my kids and we had a character dress up day Friday. I went as "Lilly" from "Lilly's purple plastic purse".
Essie also had a Dr. Seuss birthday party Friday and she wore a green eggs and ham outfit I made...I think it turned out super duper cute!

Weekend in Hot Springs
(I typed this up a few weeks ago and forgot to publish!!! ooops!~)
This past Friday morning Essie woke up with fever so her daddy took off work and took her to the doctor. She got two xrays (of her chest & her sinuses) and was diagnosed with a sinus infection.
Once I got home she was acting fine and her fever was gone so we headed on to Hot Springs to meet Trav's family for a weekend getaway in a cabin. Our first thing to do was make pizzas for dinner...

Essie's fever came back that night and continued to spike up and down the whole weekend. If her fever was up she wanted NOTHING to do with anyone but me but if it was down she acted totally normal.
Saturday morning it was a cool, drizzly day but we decided to go on an eagle tour boat ride across Lake Ouachita anyway. Essie wasn't sure of the life vest but ended up dealing with it. We saw 4 bald eagled and she was super excited about it.. We kept her bundled up (she had on one shrit, two jackets, her life vest, and a blanket) and she ended up falling asleep on my chest on the way back.
That day we took a 3 hour nap and just enjoyed a relaxing evening. The older kids entertained themselves by sliding up and down the bannister...Essie was jealous and just had to try it once. Travis' dad grilled burgers and we roasted marshamallows...
We had a really good time just being together and relaxing!

Valentine's Day 2012
We had a very nice Valentine's day...
A few days before, Essie addressed her Valentines for her classmates and we baked cookies to attach them too!
Then on Valentines day she had a party at school (daddy got to go but mommy didn't since my classroom party was at the same time.)
Once I got home, we let Essie open her valentine cards and she was so excited that her friends at school gave her cards. She kept gasping and saying "Lucas gave it to me!!!".
She also got to open her Valentine surprise from us...
She had a little suprise for me as well...
Then we all went out to a nice, romantic dinner at Chick Fil A. Our Chick Fil A does a full service dinner on Valentine's night...we made reservations and printed tickets for it. They had black table cloths, flowers, candles, and we had waitresses to served us at our table. We also got free dessert and goodies. It was so much fun and I love that we could do something Essie would love as much as us.
