fab friday

This morning I had a meeting with the other first grade teachers to start getting things ready for school to start.  It was nice seeing the ladies I work with and catching up! We had our first grade lunch at Coltons and afterwards Trav and Ess came up to my room to help. There were several other babies there and we pretty much had a baby reunion! It was precious!  After that we ran to a local teacher supply store and Target so I could pick up some stuff for my classroom! I also picked up some of those crayola beginners in hopes to keep Ess entertained at times....and this is what we got...
The markers were a BAD IdEA ....she kept putting them in her mouth and throwing them across the room.

But she did like the fingerpainting better...I'm going to frame this and put it in my classroom I think! Her first artwork!

And just for fun...a video of her walking...she's really gotten alot quicker lately.  She was waddling around like a lil old lady for the longest and now she can realllly book it!

Cooking up a Storm!!!

One thing I love about being at home is that I have plenty of time to plan meals and cook! Lately I've been cooking three meals a day and have tried out lots of new recipes! I am updating my recipe blog with lots of recipes so keep an eye out there for new stuff! Tonight I made a meal that made Travis pretty much do a cartwheel...cuban sloppy joes with cheesy squash casserole! It was soo yummo!

Baby Love and One FUSSY baby!!!

I am in love with Essie playing with her "baaaaayyyybeeeees" right now.  She holds their hands and "teaches them to walk".  She also gives them a daily dose of "kisses" (licks) and hugs.  She rocks them and says "awwww baaaayyyybeee".  I love it!

This morning we went to the lapsit at the library again..it's the last one of the summer!

And she's been running a fever off and on all week.  It's peaked at 102 but she's been sooooo fussy.  I mean she will not let us put her down...does not want to eat or sleep.  She pitches one heck of a fit all day long.  This is so unlike her so we broke down and took her to the dr today afraid she might have an ear infection.

But she doesn't he says it's just major teething and a minor cold and to up her motrin dosage.  So hopefully we will have a happy baby again soon! Mommy and Daddy are exhausted! :)

clingy in the classroom

Today while Travis went to get his haircut he dropped E.Claire and I off at my school so we could get a little bit done.  I will emphasize LITTLE BIT.  Essie is super dooper clingy these days...only wants to be held.  Will not play by herself...follows us around screaming MOMMy DADDy!.  She clings to our legs and pulls herself up.  Did any of your one year olds go through this phase? She has always been good to go to other people except lately...she just wants us.  And we cannot get anything done I swear!

So today she and I worked a little bit...well...I worked and Essie undid pretty much anything I did!

She unloaded shelves

played with sight word cards

and refilled boxes! ha!

But she's soooo much fun right now that classroom can wait! I only have a few weeks left of summer break to spend with her and I want to soak it alllll up! :)

Summer Soup!

First of all...looooooook at what was stuck to our backdoor last night!

UGH!!! We so need to burn that door now!

Then this morning we went to get Essie's 12 month pictures made...I posted them earlier today...we were really pleased at how they turned out.

After that we ran to walmart to do some heavy grocery shopping.  Essie was soooo worn out she slept for over 3 hours this afternoon.  Once she got up we ran to target to get some diapers and wipes...I had enough coupons that I got a pack of Pampers for FREE and a big thing of wipes for only 5 bucks!  Score!

This evening we all three cooked dinner together...well Essie pretty much clung to my legs screaming "mama! maaaaaaamaaaaa!" the whole time but I'll count that as helping.  We made a summer soup, quesadillas with avocado smash, and a fruit shortcake.  I will post the recipes on the recipe blog in a little bit too!
