Happy Birthday Adalyn!
Essie was so excited to attend her first birthday party that she wanted to take a bath first thing this morning...
She loved it...
really, really loved it.
Then she wanted to wear her giraffe towel for awhile while mommy & daddy got ready...
Then it was time to get all dressed up....we picked out this outfit last night while we were playing dress-up. She even got to wear her new shoes!

Adalyn's cute cake...by the way...it was delicious! The whole party was "cupcake" themed.

So pumped to be there! She was very good and loved watching all the kids play.
Diggin' into that smash cake! It took awhile but she finally got into it!

Wow...can't believe it's been a year already! Won't be long before we're having Essie's first birthday party! Better start planning now!

cake wrecks...
Travis and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/. We can sit and laugh for hours looking at all the horribly decorated cakes. Check it out...I also added it to my sidebar for your viewing pleasure!

Today Essie and I met Travis for lunch at our favorite place then she and I ran by my school so that my students could meet her. It was so sweet! They were so excited to see her and she seemed quite intrigued by them as well!
She wore one of my most favorite outfits today...I love the zebra print on her! It even has ruffles on the butt!
When we got home she and I played dress up for a bit. I've been dying to try this outfit on her & was quite surprised that it actually fit her! And she looked super cute in it!
Gotta love all that zebra print! And check out those shoes!
The best toy we've found...a carseat mirror. She LOVES this! She constantly smiles at herself in it! We got it at Target...the new Sassy brand they are carrying. Love that stuff!

"who" hair
Look who woke up with a serious case of "who" hair this morning? It was sooo "who-horrific" that I dug out the super cute "Horton hears a Who" onesie that my parents bought her. classroom tour and maternity leave
Well today is the first day of my maternity leave...I am so blessed to get to hang out at home with Essie for the next 6 weeks. I don't go back to work until October 5th! Joy! I have been working the past few weeks to get my classroom ready, prepare my sub, and start the kiddos off. Yesterday was the first day of school and it went well! So in honor of my maternity leave, here is a tour of my classroom!

My door decorations...our theme this year is "respect is wild" and first grade ran with the "Where the Wild things are" idea. I thought these doors were cute!

6 weeks
Essie you are 6 weeks today! You have been growing so fast! Right now you:- have been sleeping through the night for almost 2 weeks straight! you sleep from 11-7!
- you weigh 9 lbs 4 oz
- you are the happiest baby and smile all the time
- you cry real tears but only if you are really hungry
- you and the paci are still bff's
- you love to stand all the time
- you love bathtime
