Dirtwork....yay!
So far the one thing that has held us up so far has been the dirtwork. A guy that Travis knows is doing it for us as a favor. Therfore we have been pretty much at his mercy waiting on it to get done the past two months. We cannot get the driveway done, electric lines run, garage door installed, yard work done, and a/c units put in until the dirtwork is completed. So alot is on hold until the dirtwork is completed. But today...it's getting done. The yard looks completely different! They have already taken off many, many loads of dirt from the lot and are currently removing more. The lot has been leveled and now looks like an actual yard. It only took one giant bulldozer, one dump truck, and one loader.

Hardwood floors and a bannister
Today, our hardwood flooring began to be put down. Our guys got the living room and hallway between the spare bedrooms finished. It looks so good! Travis worked all day on making the staircase bannister. At the time that I took this picture, he wasn't finished. He still needed to add more moldings. I'll paint it tomorrow. Tomorrow Travis will make the fireplace mantel. Our dirtwork should also be completed. That's the only thing that has been holding us up so far. Once that is done we can pour our driveway, sidewalk, and patio. Our electic lines can be run and our a/c can be completed!

Sad attempt at curtains...

I made a sad attempt at making curtains for the playroom today. I used the same fabric that I used in the pillows yesterday. I have never claimed to be able to sew well and these are far from perfect. And no, this is not the window they were made for. The window they were made for is much smaller. I hung them on a window at the apartment just to see what they look like.
