BIG GIRL BED
We thought it was time for Essie to get herself a new BIG GIRL bed...she was taking up every single inch of her toddler bed and not sleeping well in it. We found the most gorgeous antique, princess-esque daybed at a furniture store before Christmas. I called this week to try and talk the guy into taking less for it (it was way over our budget) but unfortunately he wouldn't. So yesterday while in Memphis we did a lil browsing and came across this one. Not completely what we wanted but cost a fifth of what the fancy one did. I'm hoping that we can paint it some funky bright color or jazz it up somehow. So today we fixed it all up and rearranged her room...I think it looks pretty good. Essie looooooves her bed and has already lines up all her babies and stuffed critters on it!

the zoo
It was such a BEAUTIFUL day today!!!
After Essie ran around the yard for a bit we loaded our little cowgirl up and headed towards Memphis. We ran to a few shops and then to our main destination...THE MEMPHIS ZOO!!!
Essie was so jazzed she was beyond excited! Her favorites were the big cats (she kept calling them lil meow meows), the wolves (which she constantly howled at), and the giraffes which walked right up to where we were standing.

how we are making it...
Well I'm sure you noticed that one of the biggest changes since Travis has moved away is that my blogging time has been cut waaaay down. I used to blog while he rocked her to sleep and that was just our nightly routine. Now since I'm on my own it just doesn't happen. So we are truckin on. We don't like it but like I've said a 1000 times before it could be MUCH worse. I don't sleep well during the week...between the floppy toddler in the bed with me and the dogs barking or needing to go out I've not been getting near the amount of sleep I used to. Therefore I'm exhausted. And having to keep up with the chores, errands, etc on my own adds to that. Essie is okay during the week. I can tell she misses her daddy. She says his name in her sleep and asks for him first thing when she wakes up. And once he comes home Friday nights she won't let go of him! But we are making it work for now. I have started completing applications for Little Rock area schools...which is extrememly time consuming and not fun at all. So for now we are taking it day by day...here are a few pics of my sweetie this week....

family sunday
I had to work at Popsicles consigment sale again today but the good news is that I sold almost all of my items and made a great profit to boot!
It's been so gorgeous that we spend some family time outside...Essie riding in her new car that I got for a heck of a deal at consignment.
Then this evening we met up with Sarah, Matthew, and Cooper to use up a free family bowling pass I had that was about to expire. We had such a great time!

Since Travis' office is closed Monday due to Presidents Day he gets to spend an extra day with us...I just wish I was off work too!

what a weeeeeeek.
Wow. That's about all I can say about this past week. It was so jam packed with activities that I can barely remember it! I had Valentine's Day (with party at school), our big local consignment sale (which I had to drop stuff off at, shop at twice, and work at for 12 hours), Kindermusik, parent teacher conferences, and a campout day at school. My mom came up to keep Essie during my pt conferences and during the time I had to work at the consignment sale.
So to review....Thursday Sam came over to play with essie while I was at school because his momma came to shop consigment. My mom had two wild toddlers on her hands...
Friday...daddy came home!!!
And today I had to work at the consignment sale and then we went to lunch at our fav sushi place and to the mall so I could spend some of my birthday money!
