The Plan...

Okay. We now have a plan. Went to the doctor-i am still not dilated. However she is "very low" and I'm softening still. My doctor is very hesitant to induce if I've not started to dilate on my own. His words today were "if we induce without you being dilated you have a 70-80% chance of a c-section". We don't want a c-section at all but we also don't want to go to 42 weeks either. So here's the plan. We are planning on inducing next Wednesday (I would go into the hospital on Tuesday night). However I am going in for an appointment Tuesday morning to have an ultrasound, non-stress test, and exam done to make sure I've started to dilate and to monitor her/make sure she's not getting too big. If I've not dilated on my own and she's not too big we still have the option of backing out of the inducement and waiting a little longer-that's the decision I will have to make on Tuesday. One fun thing is that next wednesday's date is 7-8-09! Easy to remember! Ha! We are very comfortable with our plan right now and are relieved to have a goal in mind at least. We have a little less than a week to try and get some dilation going on and get ready! I was so anxious/excited/nervous before my appointment today that I actually straightened my hair and put make-up on (the first time in months seriously!) Here's the proof...

  2. To give you a little encouragement...I was induced after my due date and everything went very smoothly!! It was actually very calming to know that I was going to be at the hospital when ALL the drama happened start to finish. One piece of advice...they probably won't let you eat solids once you arrive and they will cut off most liquids after midnight in case you do end up having a c-section. Eat before you go because you will get hungry. Congrats on the plan! I hope everything goes very smoothly for you!
