We went for our 4D ultrasound on Friday afternoon...right after I got the dreaded "you failed your glucose test" phone call. We were prepared to not be able to see her...the tech had forwarned us. I was just really, really, really hoping Essie would be in a position that would work. That wasn't the case. It was very apparent from the beginning that we wouldn't be getting a good shot of her. That sweet tech worked so hard to try and get her to move or to work around the placenta but it just wasn't working. She tried for over 15 minutes! The placenta pretty much covered the bottom half of her face which made everything blurry. And then Essie turned to where her back was to us and we couldn't see anything! Stubborn girl. We did get to see her a few times...enough to determine she has Travis' nose! She sucked her thumb ferociously the majority of the time. We could see her little jaw just a working as she sucked away! We also can absolutely, no doubt confirm that she is indeed a girl. We got our first "good look" at her girl parts. The sweet tech did give us the few pictures she took and didn't charge us since it was a lost cause. So we got a free glimpse at our girl...which is priceless! It's a little disheartening to know that Friday will most likely be the last time we see her until delivery!
