38 weeks!

Here are Essie's 38 week pictures!

She got to spend the morning with Daddy and here are some pics HE took of her...sooooo daddy pictures!

And then this afternoon I took off work so we could head to Batesville to take Essie to an optometrist there.  We both went to school with him and so we wanted him to take a look at her because of this:

Her left eye does not move outward from her nose.  You only notice this when she cuts her eyes far to the left.  Her right eye moves over but her left does not. 

Here is my big girl waiting in the waiting room!

He said that she could possible have "Duane's Syndrome" which is where there is a problem with her sixth cranial nerve.  He wants us to to to Arkansas Children's Hospital to get a 2nd opinion.  He said other than that her eyes looked healthy!  She was SO GOOD! She didn't even cry when they dilated her eyes! Here is a pic of her big pupils!

Since we were in Batesville we went over to NaNa & Pa's to eat dinner.  They had an Easter basket ready for her filled with goodies! 

After dinner she climbed their entire staircase by herself!!! She was so proud! 

a SUPER tuesday

so with the "big Sat 10 test" coming up in a few weeks our school has taken on a "Superhero" theme to pump kids up and get them ready.  Today was our big kickoff and all the teachers had to put on a skit.  Kindergarten teachers dressed as the Incredibles, we 1st grade teachers dressed a the "Literacy League" which included Super Listener (me), Bubblicious, Princess Prepared, Dont' Move Ahead Diva, Look Back Lady, Wonder Reader, and Math Man!, and 2nd dressed as other superheroes.  We danced to "Boom Boom Pow" and did our skits but the best part was that our principal and assistant principal dressed as Wonder Woman and  Batgirl...It was fabulous!

Once I got home we went on a walk and Sarah and her pups tagged along!

Easter Stuff!

So here is little miss e-claire's easter outfit...I think it's to die for! I love the sweet smocking, the bunny detail, the gingham, and those ruffly sleeves.  She is just dripping with cuteness in it!  She's going to wear sweet white ballet flats, a pearl bracelet, and her big pink bow with it! We don't have her actual professional Easter pictures for a few weeks since we are waiting on the azaleas to bloom!

And here is her Easter bucket.  We got it from WhimsyTin (there is a link on my sidebar).  I LOVE it-I wanted something we could use year after year. 

And here is her basket already filled...she has animal crackers, crunchies, sippie cup, bath books, a Barbie (she was soooo wanting one that a little girl had at church the other day), a loud squeaky chicken, and a toothbrush! :)

And here are a few pics from today..she got to try some frozen berries in her mesh feeder...she made one heck of a mess! But she was in hog heaven!

And I got this recipe from a baby book (it's half an avocado, 2 tsp cream cheese, and some diced tomato).  She loved the avocado by itself but she really liked this too! She's taking some of it to daycare tomorrow for her lunch!

And just because it's too cute...here's her nudey shot...she takes off like greased lightning everynight as we are getting ready for bathtime! :)

a very special moment!

So last week while at Wye Mountain taking pictures in the daffodils, I ran into a very special person. Let me go back a little bit first...I spent 2 years teaching PreK when I first graduated.  I taught in a very small school that is about 45 minutes outside of Jonesboro.  My first year teaching was also the first year that we started a prek program in this school.  In fact we spent the first few weeks teaching without tables and chairs.  Anyway, I loved those years.  Loved them dearly and that was all due to the families and the kiddos.  I did not enjoy driving 45 minutes each way and having to get up extra early but I loved the people there! Those kiddos will forever hold a special place in my heart.

 Anyway....this little girl...Hannah....was one of my first students.  In fact I taught her for 2 years...she came to me when she was 3 years old.  She is such a sweet girl...I remember how she loved to pretend to teach. Here is a picture of her at 3 in my classroom.

And here is a picture of her now...I haven't seen her in like 5 years! I couldn't believe it! And she remembered who I was!  It made me cry.  And her mother said the most special things about me...and that made me cry harder!

It's not often that you get the chance to hear what an impact you made of the life of a student!
